Why Life, Health and Wellness Coaching

In the latter years of my 25 years of clinical practice in Physiotherapy, inspite of the passion and purpose fulfilling career as a ‘hands on’ approach (pun intended) as a health practitioner, a simple fact and theme continued to be evident -“Knowing really is not half the battle”. This is known as the GI Joe Fallacy (coined by Professor Laurie Santos and Tamar Gendler at Yale University, 2014) The premise being that inspite of having the knowledge on how to be happier, healthier and establishing personal goals and aspirations, this does not necessarily result in the person making any of these changes. One requires committing to them and then actioning them. Bazinga ….An accountability partner and coach to facilitate, guide and support this desired and necessary change with an actionable plan which inevitably leads to attainment of successful goals and improved overall well-being.

For transformation, I fully understand that individuals new to coaching and therapy need to feel heard, valued, safe and understood and with my experience and skills I provide my clients with evidence based theories and frameworks and the knowledge and assurance that they shall receive a professional and trustworthy service.

To aid my own life journey and strengthen my professional service and expertise, I continue to train and attend relevant courses and keep abreast with current science, research and developments.
